Offer yourself

How would you improve your community?

The fact that we live is a gift. We are recipients of our lives. And the same giver of our lives gave our neighbour, our community their lives. We owe all to him. And we are connected with then, regardless if we like them or not.

Others belong to the Giver of Life as well. He placed them around us, whether we like them or not.

The Giver of Life life loves me, and he loves them. So as a response to His love for them I am called to love them with my small love.

I ask HIM for love and patience. Especially for those around me, whom I find challenging: too different, too much noise, too demanding. Putting things into perspective helps me, step by step to make decisions out of love for HIM to their benefits. I want to shine HIS love for them.

This because HE has shown me HIS love for me, by dying during a public execution about 2000 years ago.

You might have guessed it, I am talking about Jesus of Nazareth, whom we also call the Christ, the anointed one, the Redeemer. Seeking to receive his forgiveness, opens my hart to forgive others. Especially those who wronged me (they are the ones who need my forgiveness).

Improving my community starts by asking God to show me how he sees them, and then to love them with his love.
